Another Hong Kong SACD issue with no provenance on the source used for the SACD master.
I'm guessing we are looking at a PCM source, certainly not analogue tapes. The recording leans in the direction of bright as a consequence.
The Album itself is a marvel. Chock full of all the artificial flavours, colours and sweeteners you could ask for. Lots of stereo jiggery pokery too. The sound stage presented is also very good. As such it is an excellent lounge listen from an auditory point of view.
One odd thing. The narrator at the commencement of the album tells the listener to settle in for an hour......but the album only runs for 40 minutes. Maybe Mr Cretu anticipated that the listener would be in need of some kind of post coital cigarette at the end of the album.
All in all a shameless confection, but good shameless.
