Originally issued as a CD back in 1996, with the SACD transfer done in 2003.
This is top notch contemporary Chinese music of an artistic bent on Chinese instruments, with a bit of synthesiser thrown in. It is not a bit new age. As befits a label like Chesky, this is quality art.
The SACD transfer itself is very good. Great separation of instruments, wonderfully detailed and on a good soundstage.
Can't go wrong really.
