A surprisingly lovely album.

I recommend Amazon.it while the supplies last, since it is 15€ cheaper than Anywhere else.
I wonder if Dynamic range will be the same as on infamous 2003 so called remasters or better?

I was not expecting much from this, given it's provenance.
It being based on the 2003 PCM remaster and being a Hong Kong title (though the disk itself is stamped in Japan).
However it sounds very good. It has that clean early 80's sound and is quite smooth and full sounding. Not at all pinched as some stuff from that era can be.
Also, the amount of compression used is minimal.
The sound stage is excellent and there is a fine airy element to the presentation, with lots of space between the instruments.
It remains available as of now for $28.19 USD so get it while you can.

the former is done by myself just yesterday evening and the comparison with the latter proves that resolution AFFECTS dynamics (not vastly but significantly).
Also the latter is not by me but someone, who is probably better equipped than me :-)
Nevertheless these releases are still far from the original dynamics present on the first Japanese release VDP 56.
Conclusion: all this post is to support better remastering of the recorded music at the dawn of the digital era.
