This is evidently the 1980 studio recording, not the live one from a year or two later. Personally, I preferred this one! Also, not listed here yet, but on sale at CDJapan is Karajan's first Shostakovich 10th!

I'd love to hear from someone who owns this-- its musical virtues speak for themselves, but is the SACD a sonic upgrade?
