Recommended for the recording of symphony #96 which is a real gem. Hopefully Dutton will be able to issue the other three Bernstein/NYPO Haydn symphonies that were recorded in "quad" (93-95). The mass is another matter, spoiled by obsessive dial twiddling. Perspectives between orchestra, chorus, and soloists change constantly as the original producers bring one element or another to the fore.

Bernstein was brilliant when he was engaged, and for some reason Haydn got his juices flowing. I'm really hoping we get those three additional symphonies which would fit on one disc.
