Hello.
I own both versions and I really feel that the Stereo Sound version trounces the Esoteric disc. I was very underwhelmed by the pcm sound of the latter while the former ...

As an album it is something of an acquired taste.
It has been suggested elsewhere that Ritalin was a component in the creative brew. True or not it is at least plausible.
Well ahead of its time in many ways and perhaps an influence on Flaming Lips for one.
Sonically it is a somewhat lo fi album, but that said, the SACD master seems a pretty good one. Sound staging and such are better than you might expect. Not much change in the amount of compression used either.
