Crikey! Where did Bissie find this ensemble? Founded in 1998 and already in association with Ashkenazy? This will certainly raise their profile as they don't have one in the UK beyond the hallowed spires!

John, the same group was on Chandos' disc of Borenstein pieces, and Ashkenazy was the conductor there too. Seemed to be pretty good but totally unfamiliar music made judging hard, looking forward to hearing the Shostakovich when I'll have an aural reference point.

The orchestra should have a high profile and their concerts feature world class soloists (eg Argerich,Vengerov,Mutter etc). I have attended their concerts in Oxford and they are superb with excellent soloists within their own ranks. They have apparently recorded Brahms and Sibelius violin concertos with Vengerov for commercial release but I do not know for which label. I can only hope it should be Bis or Chandos.
