Gergiev and The Mariinsky are on familiar territory here and in top form. The repertoire suits them well. These beautifully crafted performances have been in the can for a while but the delay in releasing them has been worth the wait.
Classic Sounds is listed in the credits, the recording is exemplary and demonstrates once again their technical competence when uninhibited by the Barbican Hall

That new release of Tchaikovsky's 6th is, indeed, an old recording, from 2010. It's rather unclear why they released it at all right now, to be honest...
