This is the second time AP have issued a SACD transfer of this title. Curiously this one has the same catalogue number (but a different prefix) as the first one from well over ...
Mark, many thanks for this timely response. All I have to do now is start saving up!
Thanks for the recommendations. This SACD is on my Presto Classical wishlist. Looking forward to playing it loud on my Magnepan 20.7s.
This is what I found from one of the Japanese audio magazine, via Google Translate :)

Vocalion must be commended for these Weather Report releases. Not only do we get the very excellent Night Passage, but coming up is the sublime Tale Spinnin'. I have already made their excellent Night Passage release a part of my library, but I will be ordering Tale Spinnin' as well. Please Keep these Weather Report releases coming!
I have ordered this and super-excited for this sacd. will report a review under comments section later. Will also do one for the Night Passage. Keep 'em comin' Vocalion!
This Vocalion SACD issue is claimed to be "Remastered from the original analogue tapes by Michael J Dutton". Just which 'original analogue tapes' is left unremarked upon.
Audio Fidelity has also done a SACD of this title, but I have not heard it and am not in a position to compare the two efforts. However, there is a comparison over on the Vocalion web site that has been done by a customer. In a nutshell, the reviewer preferred the AF version as it was more detailed, but also noted that if quad was your thing the Vocalion issue was the only game in town.
To me, the Weather Report SACD's have been a bit thin sounding and this sacd issue continues in that tradition. Tending to suggest that they recorded that way.
By way of indirect comparison, the AF version of Black Market is certainly more detailed sounding than Vocalions Tail Spinnin', but what it loses in detail it gains in being smoother and (relatively) more organic sounding.
Sound staging is a bit weird at times though. The drums in particular sounding like they were coming from the studio down the hall!
