Comment by Athenaeus - January 25, 2021 (1 of 2)

Since December airmail — including EMS — has been suspended between Japan and Canada, so I've had to put a pause on ordering anything from Tower Records (and I find it's just too expensive with DHL or Fedex). So, I haven't bought this release yet but I would nonetheless like to drop a comment about its contents. The Carmina Burana are part of a triptych called Trionfi, which also includes the seldom heard works Catulli Carmina and Trionfo di Afrodite. This release is a two-disc set and it includes all three works, i.e. the complete trilogy. So, this is not "just another Carmina Burana disc..."

You can disregard my previous comment. I got two releases mixed up: this one and another one, which is numbered 0301703BC. They are both recordings of Carl Orff with Herbert Kegel conducting. And they both have a very similar cover. However, 0301289BC (i.e. the disc featured on this page) only includes the Carmina Burana and was recorded in 1960. The other release (i.e. 0301703BC) contains the complete triptych and was recorded in the '70s. The similarity of the covers got me confused and I hope no one ordered the wrong release because of my comment.
