Because this is the kind of release for which it is annoyingly difficult to find any reviews I'm posting a short one here even though I don't really feel qualified to do so. I don't feel qualified because I don't own any of the previous releases of this recording on compact disc or vinyl, so I can't say whether this remastering is an improvement over what came before. All I can say is that I found the sound quite satisfying. The sound stage seems a tad narrow and the strings do sound a bit receded at times but these are only quibbles; overall, I would say the sonics are very good. As for the artistic merit of this performance, if you're reading this you probably already know this is considered one the best recordings of Mahler's Third.
