First off, this site's description omits the fact that this disc also includes three pieces by Emmanuel Chabrier: España, Suite pastorale and Joyeuse Marche. I sent a message to point this out but it seems it went to the administrator's waste bin...

These aren't recordings I already had in my collection so I can't make any comparisons but I thought they sounded great, as is usually the case with these Tower Records SACDs. The only sonic issue I noticed was some distortion when the bass drum kicks in; I suspect this is a problem with the master tape.

I found the interpretations to be thoroughly enjoyable. I was especially delighted by the Chabrier, a composer I must admit I wasn't too familiar with.

Recommended!

Edit... The Chabrier pieces have now been added to the description. Thanks to whoever corrected this!
