With this sacd you'll probably get as close to the genuine sound of the original tape as possible. Well, at least closer than with Esoteric's rendition of the same recording - in my opinion. Only downside: this sacd is even more expensive than Esoteric's. And you'll get only the four concertos - 43:55 in total. But it's worth every second and every penny!

Much worse than Esoteric's. The sound is thinner, it lacks body. Esoteric's sounds much more natural. My Stereo Saund record is going to ebay soon.

Hello.
I own both versions and I really feel that the Stereo Sound version trounces the Esoteric disc. I was very underwhelmed by the pcm sound of the latter while the former was simply gorgeous in every way. I found the Esoteric very strident and cold while the Stereo Sound had gorgeous dynamic range and a very inviting quality.
This is my experience. I love the quality of Stereo Sound although they are almost cost prohibitive to purchase.
Cheers.
