Deutsche Grammophon presents Karl Böhm’s outstanding 1964 interpretation of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, a legendary opera recording of the golden stereo age in an audiophile Remastered on 2 CDs and one Blu-ray audio. “Böhm is one of the stars of international concert halls Die Zeit.

Karl Böhm’s 1964 recording of The Magic Flute is one of the timeless classics among the Opera recordings. One of the reasons for this is their prominent cast of singers, led by the legendary Tenor Fritz Wunderlich, one of whose parade roles was Tamino. Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau embodies the bird-man Papageno with bravura, and Franz Crass interprets the two Sarastro arias with a melodious, warm bass voice that is unparalleled even today.

The recordings are presented on 2 CDs as well as on a high-fidelity Pure Audio Blu-ray disc in audiophile 96kHz/24-bit format. The mastering is based in each case on the recordings of the original analog tapes. The edition features a 36-page booklet with synopsis and essays in German and English.

Is this really multichannel? Can anyone confirm? There are two separate Blu-ray releases for this, and according to above, this one is multichannel. But it seems off and I can’t verify and have never seen one anywhere that says it’s multichannel

No, it's stereo only, as you would expect from the date. A lovely transfer though and a clear step up from previous digital incarnations. Do a saved search on e-Bay and with a little patience it is still possible to get a good pre-owned copy at a sensible price.
