A compelling release which should be too attractive to ignore even if it adds duplication to one's collection.

This obviously does not contain the cited works in their entirety, even considering how long these single layer discs can be (not 4 hours however, as SHM SA-CDs do not use DST compression, the signal is always incompressed). And there are only two discs here.
Does anyone have the detail of which movements or parts are herein included?

Single layer discs, stereo only.
Spectacular recordings with huge soundstage laterally and front to back and with good height. Lacking a little positional definition and inner dynamics and air around instruments. Quite accurate tonality so overall a good sense of being present in the concert hall(s). Of course most of these recordings were in stereo only and have been transcribed well but the lack of mch should not deter buyers.
Recordings vary a little in quality depending on the quality of the original recording techniques and tape quality during the period 1960/80 from which they were sourced. Some of the earlier extracts are over bright especially brass and upper strings but not gratingly so. The dynamic range is always very good with deep bass as in the Organ Symphony being reproduced surprisingly well. The recording engineers have done a remarkably good job.
The choice of works to justify the title "Great" depends very much on who chose them and we can discuss until the cows come home which of the many famous DG recordings should have been selected for a cameo on this album. Many are universally self evident choices such as von Karajan' s Beethoven Symphony 9 and Kleiber's Beethoven Symphony 5 but there are others that may surprise, it is however an eclectic mix of excerpts that delight from beginning to end.
At the moment CD Japan appear to be the only source for this release. My copy was delivered within 4 calendar days from order so they are in stock. My advice is to act quickly before they sell out.
