This is an excellent recording from the golden age of Decca/ Culshaw/ Vienna. Recorded on May 7, 1965 in the Sofiensaal, it was shortly before Decca embarked on the final Ring recording of Die Walküre. It would be impossible to guess the age of this recording if you did not know. One of Mehta's most impressive performances.
