A very pleasant surprise. Back in the day this was the one to have. One of my first LP purchases as a maturing kid. Still here on the shelf many decades later.

And very nice it sounds too, with an extra overture added for good measure. Many people preferred his earlier stand alone VPO account but I could never see that myself, and the LSO sound superb.

Just to clarify, as I didn't realise it wasn't mentioned in the listing itself, the disc also includes the Carnaval overture from the same cycle to make up the playing time a bit.

This release has completely passed me by so far. This is probably because it’s a release from Hong Kong, which is quite rare. However, I would be very grateful for more information about the remastering if anyone has it handy.

One issue with all the Universal SACDs in Hong Kong is the complete lack of information on mastering and other technical details. On the other hand, the price is very reasonable in Hong Kong
