Contrapunctus, I agree with you 100%. Tower (and Esoteric) are releasing so many titles that have been issued previously, in some cases these are 3rd SACD editions. I do not ...

Another title in the Tower Records SA-CD Hybrid Selection. This one released in November 2024.
Sounds very good too. I have not heard earlier versions, but Mark Werlin's description of the sonics in his review of the 2010 AP version could just as easily have been written for this Tower Records release.
A bit odd really considering that Tower Records (kind of) claim their release is based on a fresh 2024 DSD lift from the tapes!
Whatever the mastering provenance it sounds very good and if you are looking for an alternative SACD equivalent of the 2010 AP SACD, this Tower Records one could well be it.

"Remastered in 2024 based on DSD transferred from the original US master tapes" (from Tower Records Japan's website) most likely refers to the 2017 tape-to-DSD transfers done by Robert Vosgien, some of which have already been released as DSD downloads. I have several of the Vosgien DSD downloads, all of which sound as good as, or better than, Kevin Gray's Analogue Productions SACDs of the same titles. I would expect the same to be true of this Tower Records SACD.
