Thank you for taking the trouble to write, I am so pleased that this set has brought you pleasure too. I have ordered the Beethoven 7 from Japan so hopefully will have the ...
A very risky venture to have remastered all of these recordings in the SACD format. The cost is prohibitive, will anybody buy them or indeed have the time to listen to every ...
The Haydn would be great, re-done, but meanwhile I'm also still (for many years already!) awaiting for his Fidelio as well as his Tchaikovsky last three, which to my knowledge ...
This is the third set of this kind from the Berliner. There is a Furtwängler and Karajan (1953 - 1969) set. I think they would not publish a set if the other two wouldn’t ...
The first edition of Karajan definitely has its historical value, maybe not all of them. Even the single track of Ligeti-Atmosphere could prove it without doubt. This time, ...
I received the box last, but I have to return it due to a mstering problem. Instead of Symphony 8, which was labeled correctly, it contains the whole 9th symphony in Track 1 ...

I adore this album, and usually like Analogue Production mastering jobs - but this release is unfortunately no more dynamic (and a touch more loudly mastered) than my 2008 Impulse CD - there's no reason to get this on SACD because it's not noticeably different than available CD masters. Best version of this album is still the early CD issues from the late 80s/early 90s.

Yes, this one is a SACD title in the Acoustic Sounds SACD Series and was released June 4 2025. First time on SACD too.
According to the jacket it was mastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. And seemingly done very recently. The Obi. indicates it is a Verve Label Group 2025 DSD.
Sadly I have nothing to compare it to, but it sounds pretty good in isolation.
