This is truly a magical disc and will catch your breath. The recording has plenty of air and the CSO and Lopez-Cobos are more than up to the task with these works which are colorful and evocative. Another fine Telarc disc that I have spun many times. The Iberia does not disappoint and is filled with the wonderful colors, sights and sounds of Spain. Thankfully there is this wonderful disc of Debussy and Turina on SACD which I know I will spin many times in years to come. I have always adored The Images and these are wonderfully played.

The Turina is just like sunshine that has been captured and like the Debussy, they are played with wonderful vivacity. Truly a disc of animated performances with a conductor who knows this repertoire.

It would be nice to see a cycle of more Ravel and Debussy works with this pairing of the CSO and Lopez-Cobos. Lovers of Spanish and French repertoire will be drawn to this. A very worthwhile purchase with top-rate Telarc Surround Sound and performances. Don't miss this one if you love this repertoire. How about more French and Spanish music from this combination on Telarc?

Like most of the Telarc discs listed here this sacd is no longer available through normal retail channels. It's a nice enough disc, though I'm not as enthusiastic as threeandot. In checking around I could find it only used, or new at an extremely high price, from amazon resellers.

Bill, this disc, which is in my collection, is worth the very reasonable prices currently on offer from third-party Amazon (US) sellers. It's the only SACD of Joaquin Turina's delightful suites, Jesus Lopez-Cobos interprets with a deep understanding of the idiom, and the sessions were engineered by Michael Bishop.

I've been informally tracking the used market for SACDs over the years. Many Telarc titles remain available at fair—even low—prices.

Right Mark, I've had it since it was first released. Well worth the used prices, I agree, but new starting at $69 maybe not so much.
