A fantastic interpretation of an irresistible masterpiece.
Very good recording for the age, with a natural and credible sound-stage.
Beware: there are digital over-modulation in the DSD layer (at least the multichannel tracks). Insufficient dynamic range or sub-par digital processing in the playback chain may produce gross distortion on some passages. One of my player equipped with CS4398 DAC chip with invalid DSD data function enable has muted the output several seconds during this passages. Another one produces unbearable inter-modulation distortion with the digital level channel trim control enable.

Tower records Japan will soon release their own remastering on Sacds.
The official Rca one presented here was issued at a time when the top range was not well preserved, Nilsson sounding strident and Björling loosing the beauty of his voice.
Till now the only version which respects this nice recording has been issued by "The Swedish Society" (even Pristine's result is far from that one). Börling has at last a wonderful voice there, surpassing Corelli. It also has a nice picture of Birgit Nilsson for collectors!
That Swedish Society version is the one to get, a secret well preserved till now, but wait and see for the Tower Records' one.
