This disc does have a multi-channel layer, but I don't know if there's any information about whether the original recording was actually multi-channel?
Is this is just a multichannel conversion from stereo masters? The original recording was from 1999 so I suspect it might be.
The booklet indicates the original recording engineer (Christian Feldgen) mixed this into multichannel.
The SACD stereo layer is pretty clearly sourced from 44.1 PCM as a look at the linear frequency spectrum shows, so unless you want the multichannel mix, which is exclusive to this release as far as I can tell, the original RBCD (which sounds excellent) is just as good.
