Much, much better fidelity than my CD, which I found to be compressed and muffled.
As an example, on "Chain" the bass solo is so clear you can hear the bass strings vibrate.
I highly recommend it over the CD version.

In a direct comparison with the 45 rpm, it seems like this might have been from the same master tape. However, I don't think every song is from the same master tape. In the 45 rpm, at the beginning of Gold Dust Woman, you hear people yelling - like audience members. In the SACD, you don't hear those sounds.
