Originally released in 1974 and came to SACD with this 4 channel surround Japanese reissue in 2012. As at the time of writing it remains available.

Having listened to it I'm not surprised that it has been a steady seller. For a 1974 recording it sounds remarkable. Cleaned up of course, as is the way with Japanese recordings. But being cleaned up suits the music in this instance.

Musically it will be something that falls between two stools for most people. The classical fans will regard it as some kind of sacrilege and the electronic fans will see it as not modern enough. I guess jazz fusion had similar issues. Approached on its own terns though it is a pretty good listen.
